A few documents can’t be signed electronically — some schools, medical forms, or local authorities require real ink. For these, Attend gives you a print → sign → photograph flow.

How it works

  1. Download the document from the Documents step (during onboarding) or from your event page (after submitting).
  2. Print it and have the right person sign it — the document says who needs to sign.
  3. Take a clear photo of the signed document (or scan it).
  4. Upload the photo on the same page you downloaded it from.
  5. If the document needs it, your parent or guardian confirms the upload from their own portal — they’ll see the photo you uploaded and verify it’s legitimate.

Photo tips

  • Lay the document flat, with all four corners in frame.
  • Use good lighting — no shadows across the signature.
  • Make sure the text is readable when you zoom in. If you can’t read it, staff can’t either.
Blurry photo? No problem — you can delete an upload and replace it with a better one right up until it’s been confirmed.

What counts as done

A physical document is complete when your photo is uploaded and any required guardian confirmation has happened. Until then it will show as pending on your event page. If a printer is genuinely impossible for you (no access at home, school, or a library), email attend@hackclub.com and we’ll figure something out together.
